Jonathan Lean

Consultant Petrophysical Advisor at Lean Petrophysics and Islay Subsurface LLC.

Jonathan is a Petrophysicist with over thirty years of oil and gas industry experience. The last eighteen were spent at Hess Corporation where most recently he led Subsurface Operations for the Exploration and Offshore business units in Houston, focusing on deepwater offshore drilling operations with specialization in Geohazards/PPFG, Wellsite and Operations Geology and Formation Evaluation, while maintaining key Petrophysics skillsets via continuous technical exposure, leading interpretation studies for key exploration, appraisal and development wells in the UK, Europe, Africa, Middle East, South-East Asia, North America and Guyana/Suriname reservoirs. He has also been employed in Petrophysicist and Petroleum Engineering roles by BHPB, PGS and Enterprise Oil. He has extensive familiarity with both clastic and carbonate reservoir petrophysical interpretation, open and cased hole evaluation and integration with static and dynamic reservoir modelling in both conventional and unconventional (tight oil and shale gas) reservoirs.
